Easyread Also Delivers Solutions For Dyslexia
Some people say that dyslexia cannot be fixed. We have not found that to be the case. If you really understand the paricular reason for a child's dyslexia, then the solution is often quite simple.
There are all sorts of reasons why a child might have difficulty reading, but the main one is an "auditory deficit", displayed by 80% of poor readers. It has the symptoms of high levels of word memorisation and guessing.
We have found that this can usually be fixed completely and it is something that Easyread focuses on very much. We also know when to look for other issues such as dyspraxia and we can give advice and support for those as well.
The slowest results come from children with very limited working memory capacities. However, if they keep to the routine of doing an Easyread lesson every day, then we find that they get slow but steady progress as the reading process moves into their procedural memory.
Independent Results
We have been stunned by the results teachers can get with Easyread. The combination of professional training on your side and the facilities delivered to you through Easyread have achieved amazing breakthroughs for the children.
Through the school year 2008/9 we ran trials in schools around the country. Most schools put 5 children through the course and they received no special training or assistance from us at all.
On average the children involved were 28 months behind their contemporaries in reading age at the start. So they were in considerable difficulties.
The two key results were:
Every child began to catch up while doing the lessons, (ie improving more than a day in reading age for each day of Easyread coaching).
As a group they progressed 7 days in reading age for each lesson done.
