Easyread: A new attitude from Day 1, substantial progress in 3-4 weeks

Government Statistics on Literacy

Here are the government statistics we have been able to find on the web on actual government sites. So these are not speculation, they are scores on the doors. Click on the country to see their pages.

Of course what someone views as a pass or a fail does vary. But you can be sure that everyone wants these statistics to look as good as possible:

Australia

29% fail to meet the Yr 5 reading standard

33% fail to meet the Yr 5 writing standard

Canada Cannot find any data
New Zealand 20% of children below the target level for literacy
UK

14% below key stage 2 level 4 for reading

32% below key stage 2 level 4 for writing

US 33% of children at Grade 4 fail the basic reading test

It is this very group, the children that are already on a path to failure, that we work with. And usually we can get a good result. Most of them have no reason not to be excellent readers.

Easyread is a reading system designed for visual learners. It uses a short daily lesson online to teach a child to read over 2-6 months. It has proved highly effective with the most common form of dyslexia (auditory deficit syndrome). It is based on synthetic phonics.

We can also give advice on other foms of dyslexia such as Irlen Syndrome and Dyspraxia.

Getting children to read is our passion. Don't hesitate to call us with any question. But before you do, take the time to have a look around the site. There is a lot of information on literacy, dyslexia, the causes of dyslexia and ways to help with each type of dyslexia.

You can also check our blog to hear the latest literacy news.
