The process has been a very enjoyable journey. Easy to follow right from the beginning. With clear instruction from Easyread, good channel of communication for the parent and a good variation at each Stage.

Highlights
Jack liked the mixture of reading and games, epescially the shooting range. He was less keen on mushroom pickers, only because it was a longer game (but obviously a very important one from my side).
The incentive of the codewords/prizes really helped alot with Jack, as his concentration can lapse after a while.

Frustration
I can not stay there were any frustrations through the course. If there is a frustration (and I believe you can’t call it a frustration)this hoping that what Jack has learnt in Easyread will transfer to non coded words in every day life, but only time will tell. Maybe it would be good to have a final, small section that has words but without the Easyread characters?

Improvements
The only suggestion (in addition to above) is making a final report from Easyread to the parent/teacher summarising the change found from the beginning to the end (i.e. information gathered from the test the children have to do throughout the course and how you monitor their progress).

What the end result has been
Jack’s reading has definitely improved over the last 6 months and if you judge it on school reports his reading age has doubled in a year. (from below 6 yrs to 7yrs, 11 months).
Jack still lacks confidence in reading.
